Incentives: Combined heat and power generation/
Block-type thermal power station

Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW)

In Germany the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau grants a loan with very low interest for the change of building systems towards a combined heat and power generation system as well as for the installation of block-type thermal power stations.

Each block-type thermal power station is repaid by selling the produced power. The general terms and conditions for an operation with fossil energy sources are documented in the Kraft Wärme Kopplungsgesetz. (No petroleum tax is charged).

For the operation of block-type thermal power station with renewable energy sources public funding is higher. The relevant terms of conditions can be found in the Erneuerbare Energien Gesetz.

Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA)

The BAFA grants an additional charge on the selling of produced power, if combined heat and power generation systems are modernised or extended.

For information about incentives, renewable energy funds and other financing support for combined heat and power generation and block-type thermal power stations in other countries refer to the local ministry for environment respectively.
